Meet your mentor

Sabrina Van Der Smissen

As a Senior Delivery Lead with 17+ years of experience, I sit on the other side of the hiring table. I know exactly what the tech industry demands, but I also see where so many brilliant young professionals hold themselves back. They have the skills, but they lack the belief.

I am on a mission to bridge that gap.

By day: I lead delivery for complex technical projects. I don't just manage timelines; I manage energy. I use coaching techniques to unblock teams, foster empathy, and drive delivery through autonomy rather than micromanagement.

My journey: My career path wasn't a ladder. It was a jungle gym. I wrote my first lines of ActionScript at 16 during an animation internship of 3 years. I was offered a university professorship before I could legally drink in the US, but I turned it down to co-found a 360° digital agency in Belgium called Monsters' Lab.

Then, I did the unthinkable: I closed the agency, moved to the UK, and started over again as an intern.

Why does this matter? Because I have been the Developer, the Founder, the Intern, and now, the Senior Delivery Lead. I understand the pressure of shipping code, the stress of managing clients, and the humility required to rebuild a career in a new market (in a new language).

Beyond the sprint: I am currently channelling that panoramic experience into becoming a Barefoot Certified Coach. I realized that my favourite part of delivery wasn't the product launch; it was the people growth.

I offer a unique "Launch Pad" approach: combining strategic mentoring (CVs, interviews, corporate politics) with personal branding photography. I don't just help you polish your resume; I help you visualize your future self literally and figuratively.
